Work:
-Ronda, one of the ladies at work, has twelve year old twin daughters. They are very talented musically and so the three of us have a special bond. At Christmas we caroled all day in the waiting room. I took turns singing with the girls and playing for them on my Casio. (I wish it was me in that picture). Well, the girls called me at work the other day and taught me the latest playground-rhyme. Here it goes:
"Don't make me snap my fingers in my Z-formation,Wait until I show you the motions. It's a little 'Jerry Springer' for me...but I suppose diss-es happen and SOMEONE needs to have a rhyme about it.
booty rotation,
turn around, kiss this-
elbow elbow wrist wrist
Girl why aren't you cryin'
'Cuz you just got dissed."
-I started taking Accutane today and my mouth is already as dry as sandpaper! I hope it has positive effects on my skin. If a patient becomes pregnant while taking accutane there are some pretty serious effects on the baby. So they take a lot of measures to ensure that pregnancy doesn't happen. Including making you pass a test about different forms of birth control and when it's okay to have sex and when it isn't. Here's an actual question from my quiz:
You can not get pregnant if you:Needless to say the quiz made me feel incredibly uncomfortable. But I passed!! I also passed my pregnancy tests with flying colors. I guess you could say I'm a pregnancy-preventing prodigy.
a. don't have sex
b. have sex while taking progesterone birth control
c. have sex with an IUD
d. have sex on the first day of the month.
-I am in love with my boss and I would like to have his children. I say this in a very serious way. He wrote a book called The Derminator: Tales of a Lucky Dermatologist. He's wonderful.
School:
-Well I'm not really in school right now, but I am taking a lot of steps so I get there! Like turning in my ecclesiastical endorsement, paying off all of those lame parking tickets, and eventually I will remember to sign up for classes.
-I started planning my birthday party/housewarming party (I think we should call it a house-COOLING party since it will be in August). I've booked two bands for it. I think it will be fun. Let me know if you know of another cool band that has an indie-folk feel.
Family:
-It's all good. As long as I take care of everything but let my mom believe she is in charge, there is an unprecedentedly peaceful and blissful balance.
Social Life:
-Ken's mother's funeral was beautiful. I think he is handling his mom's death better than I am. Did I mention how amazing Ken is?
-I have met / reconnected with some of the most interesting/cool people this week. It's been fantastic. I met the raddest boy who I almost met so many times at school! we lived next door to each other!! But alas, he is on a mission here in Medford. HOWEVER he will be released and in Provo in time to come to my party.
-My friend Tanner is SO rad and I forgot. And I was going to go camping out in Klamath this weekend with Andrew and some of the other boys I used to chill with before I moved back to school so I could see Tanner (he lives in Klamath) and then I remembered I promised my mom I'd help her with something. It's probably a good thing that I didn't go see him this weekend........but we'll work it out to see each other soon.
-Also I should mention I re-connected with Evan Burchfield and I love that man more than most. He is smart and he gets me. He gets me so much. I love that. I hope he accepts the gospel one day.
-The coolest thing this week was that I met a girl named Jessica who started coming to church three weeks ago, completed her last lesson with the missionaries tonight, and will be getting baptized next Friday. She is awesome and will be a great tool in the Lord's hands. She asked me to speak at her baptism, which is really flattering and I am excitedly preparing that talk.
The End. Cool things happen in my life hourly. If I talked less I could tell you about more of them. Since I can't talk less I would encourage you to make sure that your life has hourly cool moments that make you happy to be alive and grateful for your immediate surroundings. There's no time like now.
Peace and Love.
p.s. Wear sunscreen and recycle. You'll live longer.
